Welcome to our Products Page

Here at Novaglaze we offer a number of high quality glass products. We deal in Flat, Bent & Curved glass in a number of different variations and options. We are the leaders in bespoke specialised curved glass and all of our products conform to BSI (British Standards Institute) guidelines. We are also the only company in the U.K to be able to curve/bend glass to a radius of 500 and in some cases below 500.

We specialise in the following Products:

Toughened Glass, Both Flat and Curved

– structural glass, balustardes, staircases, balconies

Toughened glass (also known as tempered glass) can be up to five times stronger than normal glass. This significantly increases its resistance to most mechanical and thermal stress, thus making it ideally suited for architectural metalwork structural glazing systems, where the glass is to be bolt or clamp fixed and also where the glass is to be exposed to extreme temperatures. If broken, toughened glass will disintegrate into small fragments with dulled edges, which is less likely to cause serious injury.

Laminated Glass

– What is a laminated glass?
Laminated glass is a type of safety glass that holds together when shattered. In the event of breaking, it is held in place by an interlayer,
typically of polyvinyl butyral (PVB) or ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), between its two or more layers of glass.

Coated Low E

-What is Low E coating on glass?
This is where low emissivity (or low-e glass) coatings come into play. Low-E glasshas a microscopically thin, transparent coating—it is much thinner than a human hair—that reflects long-wave infrared energy (or heat). Some low-e’s also reflect significant amounts of short-wave solar infrared energy.

SELF Cleaning/Low Maintenance

After years of development, Pilkington Activ™ is the world’s first self-cleaning glass to use a microscopic coating with a unique dual-action.

The first stage of the cleaning process is “photocatalytic“. In this stage the coating reacts with daylight to break down organic dirt.

The second stage is “hydrophilic“. Here, instead of forming droplets, rainwater hits the glass and spreads evenly, running off in a “sheet” and taking the loosened dirt with it, also drying quickly without leaving streaks.

Digitallty Printed Glass & Splashbacks

The required image is digitally sent by the client to our skilled team, who then process the image. The image is then printed on the glass using ceramic ink, which is then fired into the glass during the tempering process.

Forward-looking investment has meant that Novaglaze can now offer clients a full digital print service from conception through to production.

The options are almost only limited by your imagination and the ability to withstand the rigorous testing requirements. It is no longer the case where you could only buy a wired glass – we can now extend the design scope of architects and specifiers thus enhancing their creative flair.

Printing not only on flat glass but curved and domed glass as well as for balustrades, canopies, curtain walling and furniture. Architects and designers alike can bring glass to life with ceramic printed imagery.

Cracked Ice Glass

Created by sandwiching a layer of toughened glass between two sheets of ordinary glass and then allowing the toughened glass to shatter. Within a second an amazing transformation is produced, the glass glistens when lit or sparkles when candles are placed on to it. To create an even more spectacular result have the lower sheet of glass replaced by a sheet of mirror for extra reflection and sparkle!

Glass Finishes

All our glass products can incorporate a variety of designs including company logos. Simply provide us with the artwork and we will do the rest! We also offer glass processing including straight-line edging, beveling, sandblasting, screen-printing, acid etching and engraving. Shaping of glass into a variety of shapes including triple and OG edging on our new glass CNC processing bed. Non stick low maintenance surface protection such as market leading ClearShield Logo can be applied to glass after it has been bent.

We can also supply patterned and obscured glass from the range of Pilkington Decorative Glass Range (1.8mb PDF download).

Roof Lights & Domes

All frames are made of Aluminium to SI CH4 standard for all rooflights, which we press and bend to the appropriate section, which are then welded with high frequency T.I.G. welds. Galvanised mild steel Zintec can also be used in manufacturing as above, except welds are manually metal arc (MMA) weld. All welds are continuous seam welds for longevity and weathering. Finishes can be mill finished aluminium or optionally polyester powder coated to any standard R.A.L. colour. Galvanised steel is white primed to exposed faces, G.R.P. white impregnated.

Glazing can be laminated, Stripstyle or Georgian wired glass or a double glazed unit (6mm float, 12mm air space, 4mm K glass, laminated to 6mm float glass – for example).
