International Mother Earth Day is celebrated to remind each of us that the Earth and its ecosystems provide us with life and sustenance.

It also recognizes a collective responsibility, as called for in the 1992 Rio Declaration, to promote harmony with nature and the Earth to achieve a just balance among the economic, social and environmental needs of present and future generations of humanity.

International Mother Earth Day provides an opportunity to raise public awareness around the world to the challenges regarding the well-being of the planet and all the life it supports.

Education is the foundation for progress. We need to build a global citizenry fluent in the concepts of climate change and aware of its unprecedented threat to our planet. We need to empower everyone with the knowledge to inspire action in defence of environmental protection.

Environmental and climate literacy is the engine not only for creating green voters and advancing environmental and climate laws and policies but also for accelerating green technologies and jobs.

Here are some ways that we use to minimise our effect on climate change:

Reduce Packaging Materials

We are actively minimising and redesigning the way in which we package our products ready for transport, using recycled materials and only the necessary quantities of packaging to ensure safe delivery.

Recover, Reuse, Sort

Recover as much waste as you can from onsite and offsite locations by employing different techniques.

Recycling is another way we reduce our impact. We recycle materials like paper, plastic, metal and plastic regularly, and avoid recycling hazardous materials as it rarely has any environmental benefits. Industrial shredders are critical in this process as they can be used to reduce waste by condensing wood, paper, plastic and glass to a fraction of their original size.

Sorting the waste ensures that the recyclable items are getting to the right place. We have assigned personnel who have the responsibility of monitoring the recycling bins. They can then find a viable solution for eliminating, reducing or reusing the generated waste.

What you consider as waste can be a resource for some other business. We sometimes exchange the generated waste through a waste exchange program with such businesses.

Establish a Preventative Maintenance Schedule

Although general wear and tear is an unavoidable thing in the manufacturing industry, we have established a rigorous preventative maintenance schedule to avoid unneeded downtime and lower the amount of miles the engineers need to travel to keep our machinery in operation – thus reducing our overall carbon footprint.

Label and Organize the Warehouse Properly

We ensure our warehouses are organized and well-marked. All the locations of inventory, tools, supplies, and assets necessary for our manufacturing processes are clearly marked throughout the warehouses and plants. This allows for a streamlined production environment, lowering man hours and cutting waste.

Minimize Water Usage

Industrial sludge and wastewater make up a significant portion of manufacturing waste streams. We reduce these elements by minimizing water usage in the operations. This is achieved by using closed loop water systems in as many applications as possible.

We encourage employees to utilize reusable water containers for use with our water dispensers to minimize plastic waste.

Optimizing transportation

We heavily optimize our transportation routes and times to best suit our client’s delivery needs while ensuring our transport isn’t routinely stuck in traffic and not having any empty legs. This greatly reduces our usage of diesel and mileage which massively reduces our carbon footprint.
